Vespers in Detroit
On Monday, March 17, Vespers were held in the chapel at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit. Archbishop-designate Edward was the celebrant, with Archbishop Emeritus Allen Vigneron delivering the homily. Cardinal Christophe Pierre, the Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, was also present for the Vespers. I don’t know the chapel’s seating capacity, but it was packed!
Music was superbly led by Dr. Horst Buchholz, the Director of Music at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament and the Archdiocese of Detroit, where his passion for music truly shines through. ¡Él es un músico excelente!
Afterwards, we had a delightful fellowship on the seminary premises. During this gathering, we were fortunate to meet and engage with various members of the clergy, laity, and staff from the local archdiocese. It was truly a wonderful time, filled with meaningful conversations and shared experiences among everyone present.

Many friends, including clergy, chancery workers, and laity, made the journey from Tucson to Detroit, all coming together to support and be with the Archbishop during this pivotal moment in his life and ministry.
