Installation of Archbishop Weisenburger in Detroit
I am late in writing this, but nevertheless, here it goes: Finally, the much-anticipated day has arrived. Detroit can now proudly welcome a new Archbishop. The day began with a luncheon at Sacred Heart Major Seminary, where many dignitaries gathered in attendance, most notably Cardinal Pierre and Archbishop Vigneron. Naturally, Bishop Kicanas was also among the attendees. Archbishop Weisenburger took the opportunity to warmly greet us and delivered a brief yet thoughtful speech. He made a point to introduce his family to those present.
Unfortunately, I could not remain longer to socialize and catch up with everyone because, on the previous day, Dr. Horst Buchholz, the Director of Music for the Archdiocese, had asked me to sing during the liturgy of Installation. In truth, I found myself without much of a singing voice, having faced some vocal difficulties the previous week; however, the Lord was gracious, and I was indeed able to sing the verses in Spanish of the Hymn of Praise I composed back in 2017 for the installation of then-Bishop Edward in Tucson. Additionally, during Communion, I performed a rendition of Panis Angelicus, another piece I had composed two years prior. The choir sounded magnificent, creating a truly uplifting atmosphere!
The Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament is beautiful. I took a few pictures of the interior:

Archbishop Weisenburger's homily was both inspiring and beautiful, leaving a lasting impression on all in attendance (read about it here). And a short video of Bishop Kicanas, during the Eucharistic Prayer III:
And the beautiful recessional, O God, Beyond All Praising.
After the liturgy concluded, we were transported back to the Seminary for a brief gathering where we, the pilgrims who had come from Tucson, were granted a few precious moments to interact with him. I took the opportunity to express my hopes that he would not forget us and wished him well in his new role, while also hoping to see him again in the near future.
