Traveling to Detroit

Today Sunday, I traveled to the city of Detroit to be present for the occasion of the Mass of Installation for Archbishop Edward Weisenburger as he officially became the sixth Archbishop of Detroit. I had the privilege and honor to collaborate with him in the capacity of director of music at St. Augustine Cathedral in Tucson, a role I held during his leadership of the diocese from 2017 until 2025, at which point Pope Francis transferred him to the see of Detroit.

I woke up at 3:30 am, quite early in the morning, to ensure that I would be on time for the early departure from Tucson. Needless to say, I ended up sleeping soundly on the flight, taking advantage of the quiet moments to rest.

In preparation for this event, arrangements were made for accommodations and transportation throughout the Detroit area.

I will continue my report tomorrow, shortly after Vespers has concluded.
