Angelo’s at Pueblo Bonito Mazatlán

It was a pleasure to play the piano at Angelo’s after 25 years. I had worked there for a number of years before deciding to move to Morelia to pursue formal studies at the Conservatorio de Las Rosas. However, my time in Morelia was short-lived, lasting only a year, as I was offered a full scholarship at the University of Oregon. This opportunity arose thanks to a video of me playing the piano at Angelo's and at Doney.
I have wonderful memories of meeting people who, sadly, are no longer with us. I remember Mrs. Memina, the mother of the owner of Pueblo Bonito Hotel, saying, "You play so beautifully, and you are so young." Also, I can’t forget Jack and Jean Dunham from Sequim, who visited Mazatlán a few times and I ended up visiting their home in Washington two times. And many other friends, whose words of encouragement have stayed with me. However, a few of them are still around.
Many memories. I think I should write a book!
Fue un placer tocar el piano en el restaurante Angelo’s después de 25 años. Trabajé allí durante varios años antes de decidir mudarme a Morelia para realizar estudios formales en el Conservatorio de Las Rosas. Sin embargo, mi estadía en Morelia duró poco, solo un año, ya que me ofrecieron una beca completa en la Universidad de Oregon. Esta oportunidad surgió gracias a un vídeo mío tocando el piano en Angelo's y en Doney.
Tengo maravillosos recuerdos de conocer gente que, lamentablemente, ya no está con nosotros. Recuerdo a la señora Memina, la madre del dueño del Hotel Pueblo Bonito, diciendo: "Tocas tan bien y eres tan joven". Además, no puedo olvidar a Jack y Jean Dunham, de Sequim, quienes visitaron Mazatlán un par de veces y yo terminé visitando su casa en Washington dos veces. Y muchos otros amigos, cuyas palabras de aliento se han quedado conmigo. Sin embargo, algunos de ellos todavía viven.
Muchos recuerdos. ¡Creo que debería escribir un libro!
