Five Tucson Discalced Carmelite Friars
Hace días tuve el honor de participar en la Misa en honor del centenario de la dedicación de la parroquia de Santa Cruz, sucedido un 9 de febrero de 1919 en Tucson, AZ. Los Carmelitas Descalzos son parte fundamental en el desarrollo del catolicismo en el sur de Arizona, enviando a sacerdotes para atender a diferentes capillas y parroquias de la Diócesis. Una parroquia atendida en su momento por la Orden fue la parroquia de la Sagrada Familia (Holy Family). En la imagen siguiente podemos ver a 5 Carmelitas Descalzos - 4 sacerdotes y un hermano - que vivieron en la comunidad de Tucson y quienes, a su regreso a España, murieron en manos de las tropas franquistas en 1936.
